Background

About the Dell Vostro 1510

Sold 2008–2009

Launched on 1 May 2008, the Dell Vostro 1510 replaced the Vostro 1500 as the 15.4-inch workhorse of Dell's small-business range. It introduced a thinner and lighter black chassis with a more angular look than the Inspiron-derived original.

The 15.4-inch widescreen display was retained. It used Core 2 Duo and Celeron processors with Intel integrated graphics or an optional NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS. Dell included the Vostro 1510 in its 2008 list of laptops affected by faulty NVIDIA graphics chips, so versions with the GeForce option are prone to graphics failure. The Vostro 1520 followed in 2009 with a newer Intel platform in much the same casing.
