Background

About the Dell Vostro 1320

Sold 2009–2010

Dell Vostro 1320 was the 2009 update of the 13.3-inch Vostro 1310. The casing was largely unchanged, but the internals moved to Intel's Montevina platform, with newer Core 2 Duo processors and Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics. An NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS was the discrete option, and a fingerprint reader could be added.

It was sold to small businesses as the portable choice in a three-model family that also included the 15.4-inch 1520 and 17-inch 1720. The Vostro 3300 took its place in March 2010. No single defect is strongly associated with the 1320, so problems tend to be those of age: weak batteries, failing hard drives, worn keyboards and hinges that have loosened.
