Data recovery in London

We recover photos, work files and business data from failed, deleted, dropped and damaged hard drives, SSDs, RAID arrays and NAS devices. Bring the drive to our London Bridge or Beckenham branch: the first consultation is free.

How does data recovery work?

You stay in control of the cost at every step.

Our recovery process
  1. Free consultation

We find out whether the fault is logical or physical and tell you the best way to recover your data.

  2. Your quote

For physical faults we run a clean room diagnostic first. Either way, you get a price before any recovery work starts.

  3. Files returned

We copy your recovered data to a new external drive, your own drive, or your repaired laptop or PC.

What should you do when a drive fails?

  • Switch the drive or computer off and leave it off
  • Do not run recovery software on a drive that clicks, is slow or keeps disconnecting
  • Do not open the drive. Dust on the platters of a hard drive destroys data
  • Note what happened: any noise, drop, spill or error message
  • If files were deleted, stop saving anything to that drive
  • On a RAID array or NAS, do not start a rebuild or a reset

Which drive brands do we recover?

Choose your drive's brand to find your model. We recover from every make, so if yours isn't listed, just book a free consultation.

How much does data recovery cost?

All prices exclude VAT. The cost depends on what's wrong with the drive, not how much data is on it.

Files are only opened to check the recovery worked and to copy them back to you. We don't keep copies. See our privacy notice.

Businesses, servers and NAS

A failed server, RAID array or NAS can stop your business. We recover the files you need to keep running and can help you set up backups afterwards.

Data recovery questions

All questions
What is the difference between logical and physical data recovery?

A logical fault is a problem with the data, not the drive: deleted files, an accidental format or a corrupted file system. The drive still works, so it does not need to be opened. A physical fault means part of the drive has failed, such as the heads, the motor or the circuit board. Those drives need a clean room diagnostic before we can quote.

How long does data recovery take?

It depends on the fault. Recovering deleted files from a standard hard drive includes up to two hours of work, and larger logical recoveries are priced as 24 to 48 hours of recovery work. Physical, RAID and NAS recoveries depend on what has failed.

Should I try data recovery software first?

Only on a healthy drive where files were deleted by mistake, and never save the recovered files back to the same drive. Do not run software on a drive that clicks, is very slow or keeps disconnecting. It works a failing drive hard for hours and can finish it off.

Can deleted files be recovered from an SSD?

Often not. Most modern SSDs use a feature called TRIM, which permanently clears deleted files soon afterwards. An SSD with a firmware fault or failed electronics is a different job, covered on our SSD data recovery page.
