About the Dell Vostro 1015

Sold 2009–2010

The 15.6-inch member of Dell's 2009 entry-level Vostro family, the Dell Vostro 1015 was announced in August of that year with the smaller 1014 and 1088. It gave small businesses a full-size widescreen laptop at the bottom of the Vostro price list, beneath the Vostro 1520.

Specification was simple: Intel Core 2 generation processors, a WLED-backlit display, an integrated optical drive, 802.11n wireless and a five-in-one memory card reader, with a 2-megapixel webcam as an option. Lids were offered in black, blue or deep red. It carried Energy Star 5.0 certification and still included a built-in modem. Expect an exhausted battery and a slow hard drive on most examples now.
