About the Dell Vostro 1014

Sold 2009–2010

Dell Vostro 1014 was announced in August 2009 as part of a trio of low-cost business laptops, with the 15.6-inch Vostro 1015 and the Vostro 1088. Dell described them as the entry point to the Vostro range for small businesses, and they were rolled out first in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region before reaching the Americas.

The 1014 has a 14.1-inch WLED-backlit screen and Intel Core 2 generation processors, with 802.11n wireless, an optical drive, a five-in-one card reader and an optional 2-megapixel webcam. Lids were available in black, blue or deep red. These were basic machines built to a price, and at this age the battery, hard drive and hinges are the parts that most often need attention.
