About the Dell Latitude LT

Introduced 1999

New at the start of 1999, the Dell Latitude LT was a very small and light addition to the Latitude line. A review that January described a 266 MHz Pentium MMX processor, an 11.3-inch active-matrix screen at 800 by 600, a 4 GB hard drive and a weight of 3 pounds 2 ounces. It had one PC Card slot and one USB port, the floppy drive was an external unit with its own connector, and the CD-ROM drive was an optional extra.

Memory suppliers list it with a fixed 64 MB that cannot be upgraded. The LT appears to have been on sale only briefly before the 12.1-inch Latitude LS took its place. Its rarity makes the external drives and battery difficult to replace.
