Background

About the Dell Latitude CPt V

Sold 1999–2000

Sitting between the original CPt C and the later CPt S in Dell's run of Celeron-based corporate laptops, the Dell Latitude CPt V appeared around the turn of 1999 and 2000. Its familiar versions are the V433GT and V466GT, whose codes indicate 433 and 466 MHz mobile Celeron processors and a 14.1-inch XGA display. Memory was PC100 SDRAM in two slots, and an S-Video output allowed connection to a television.

It was the budget counterpart to the Pentium III CPx H of the same period and used the same CP-generation body, bay modules and port replicators. Many stayed in service for years running Windows NT or 2000. Today the original battery and hard drive are the parts most likely to have failed.
