Background

About the Dell Inspiron M101Z

Sold 2010–2011

The Dell Inspiron M101z was an 11.6-inch ultraportable released in 2010, an AMD-powered alternative to the Intel-based Inspiron 11z. It used low-power AMD Athlon II Neo processors with integrated ATI Radeon graphics and a 1366 by 768 display, which gave it noticeably more capability than the Atom netbooks it was priced just above.

Dell sold it as a step up from the Inspiron Mini line for buyers who wanted a small, light machine that could still handle video and everyday multitasking. It has no optical drive. As with most thin budget laptops of the period, the usual repairs involve a worn battery, a slow mechanical hard drive and wear to the hinges and power socket.
