About the Dell Inspiron 2650

Sold 2002–2003

The Dell Inspiron 2650 dates from 2002 and is the consumer equivalent of the Latitude V740. It shares its appearance and screen options with the Inspiron 2600 but was the more powerful of the two, sold with Intel mobile Pentium 4 or Celeron processors and NVIDIA GeForce2 Go graphics.

Displays were 14.1-inch or 15-inch, with an SXGA+ panel available on the larger size. The Pentium 4 platform makes it a warm-running and fairly heavy laptop with modest battery life. Units still in use commonly have a dead battery, a tired fan and an original hard drive that is well past its expected lifespan.
