Background

About the Sony VAIO VGN C Series

Sold 2006–2007

The Sony VAIO VGN C Series arrived in autumn 2006 as a 13.3-inch widescreen notebook for home users and students, sold in a choice of lid and interior colours. It used Intel Core 2 Duo processors and sat below the lighter and more expensive SZ in the 13-inch part of the range.

The series was short-lived: in 2007 Sony replaced it with the 14.1-inch VGN CR, which kept the colourful styling. As with other notebooks of the period, the battery and the mechanical hard drive are the parts that most often need replacing, and original batteries rarely hold a useful charge now.
