Background

About the Apple MacBook Pro 15" MA600

Introduced 2006

From 16 May 2006 the order number MA600 identified the base 15-inch MacBook Pro: a 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo with an 80 GB hard drive and 128 MB of video memory. It replaced both the 1.83 GHz entry model and the earlier, more generously specified 2.0 GHz configuration (MA464), and stayed on sale until the Core 2 Duo models arrived on 24 October 2006.

The same May revision made a glossy display available as an alternative to the standard matte panel. Otherwise the Apple MacBook Pro 15" MA600 is identical in design to the other A1150 machines, with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics, a 15.4-inch screen and an ExpressCard/34 slot. Machines of this age commonly have worn batteries and original hard drives near the end of their life.
