Background

About the Dell Latitude E5410

Sold 2010–2011

The Dell Latitude E5410 arrived in 2010 as the second-generation 14.1-inch essential Latitude. Its main change from the E5400 was the processor: first-generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 chips took the place of the Core 2 Duo, in line with the E6410 released the same year.

As before, it was the budget-minded way to join the E-family, keeping E-Port dock compatibility while leaving out some of the materials and options of the E6xxx machines. A 15.6-inch E5510 was sold alongside it, and the E5420 followed in 2011 with second-generation Core processors and a 14.0-inch screen. Wear on the battery and hard drive, and dust-clogged cooling, are the common complaints now.
