About the Dell Latitude E5400

Sold 2008–2010

Dell introduced the Latitude E5400 in 2008 as the 14.1-inch entry in its new essential tier, the lower-cost layer of the E series beneath the E6400. The Dell Latitude E5400 used Core 2 Duo processors and the same E-Port docking stations as the dearer models, but in a thicker, plainer chassis with fewer premium options.

It effectively replaced the D5xx line for cost-conscious business, education and public sector buyers, and its 15.4-inch counterpart was the E5500. The E5410 took over in 2010 with Intel Core i-series processors. No particular defect is associated with the model. After this long the hard drive, battery and keyboard are the usual candidates for replacement.
