About the Dell Inspiron 710m

Sold 2005–2006

The Dell Inspiron 710m was the 2005 update of the Inspiron 700m. It kept the same small chassis and 12.1-inch widescreen panel, with refreshed Pentium M processor choices and specification, and it continued as Dell's smallest mainstream consumer laptop until the Core Duo-based XPS M1210 took over that role in 2006.

Because the two models share a body, most parts and repair procedures are common to both. The 710m appears in the list of machines covered by Dell's August 2006 battery recall. As with any compact laptop of this period, dust build-up in the cooling system, heat and a worn battery are the usual complaints after years of use.
