About the Dell Inspiron 1570

Sold 2009–2010

Marketed as the Inspiron 15z, the Dell Inspiron 1570 was a slimmer alternative to the regular 15.6-inch Inspiron, launched in 2009 with the 14-inch Inspiron 1470. Both used Intel's consumer ultra-low-voltage processors, which run cooler and draw less power than standard laptop chips.

The result was a 15.6-inch machine that was thinner and lighter than the Inspiron 1545 and lasted longer on battery, though it was slower in demanding work. It formed the top of the 2009 z family that also included the 11z and 13z. The low-voltage platform has aged poorly for performance, and original batteries will need replacing.
