Background

About the Dell Inspiron 1545

Sold 2009–2010

The Dell Inspiron 1545 was introduced on 6 January 2009 as the successor to the Inspiron 1525 and was sold simply as the Inspiron 15. It moved to a 15.6-inch 16:9 display and was offered with Intel Celeron, Pentium Dual-Core and Core 2 Duo processors, in a glossy case available in a range of colours.

To reach a low price Dell left out features found on its predecessor, including the HDMI port and the status indicator lights. It sold in very large numbers to home users and students, so it remains a familiar sight. Typical faults today include failed batteries, damaged power sockets, cracked hinge covers and worn-out hard drives.
