Background

About the Apple PowerBook G3 14" M7308

Sold 1999–2000

The Apple PowerBook G3 14" M7308 is the faster of the two Bronze Keyboard PowerBook G3 models introduced on 10 May 1999. It has a 400 MHz PowerPC 750 with a 1 MB cache, a 6 GB hard drive and, unlike the 333 MHz version, a DVD-ROM drive as standard.

Both share the Lombard design, which trimmed the thickness and weight of the earlier PowerBook G3 Series while keeping a 14.1-inch display, and both have two USB ports and 8 MB of video memory. FireWire is absent. The model was discontinued on 16 February 2000 in favour of the outwardly similar FireWire PowerBook, known as Pismo. Original batteries no longer hold a charge and the hard drives are slow and close to worn out.
