Background

About the Apple PowerBook G4 12" M8760

Introduced 2003

M8760 is the order number of the original 12-inch PowerBook G4, announced on 7 January 2003 and sold until 16 September that year. Apple promoted it as its smallest notebook to date.

It has an 867 MHz PowerPC G4, a 12.1-inch 1024 by 768 screen, NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go graphics with 32 MB of memory and a slot-loading Combo drive. Bluetooth was built in and AirPort Extreme was an option. This first version is identifiable by its Mini-VGA video port and USB 1.1 ports; the 1 GHz model that replaced it moved to Mini-DVI and USB 2.0. The Apple PowerBook G4 12" M8760 has no PC Card slot. Expect an exhausted battery and a worn hard drive on any surviving unit.
