Background

About the Dell Latitude 13

Sold 2010–2011

The Dell Latitude 13 was a thin 13.3-inch business laptop released in 2010, the Latitude-branded twin of the Vostro V13. It had a slim metal case and low-voltage Intel processors, ranging from a Celeron to the Core 2 Duo SU7300, with a 1366 by 768 LED-backlit screen and a 6-cell battery sealed inside the chassis.

It was intended for mobile staff who valued low weight over performance and expandability, and it lacked the docking connector of the E-series Latitudes. Dell later used similar names for unrelated machines, such as the Latitude 13 education models and the Latitude 13 7000 series. Because the battery is internal, replacing it means opening the case.
