Background

About the Dell Inspiron 1370

Sold 2009–2010

Dell also marketed the Inspiron 1370 as the Inspiron 13z. The Dell Inspiron 1370 formed part of the thin z-suffix family introduced in 2009, which used Intel's low-voltage processors to give longer battery life and a slimmer profile than the standard Inspirons.

With a 13.3-inch widescreen display, it sat between the 11.6-inch Inspiron 11z and the 14-inch Inspiron 1470. The z models were aimed at buyers who wanted portability without the cost of an Adamo or XPS. Low-voltage chips of that era are slow by current standards, and age shows mostly in the battery and the mechanical hard drive.
