Background

About the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012

Introduced 2010

The Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 was the 2010 revision of the Mini 10 netbook, moving to Intel's Pine Trail platform with the Atom N450 processor. That chip integrates the graphics and memory controller, which reduced power draw compared with the 2009 models.

It kept the 10.1-inch format, with a 1024 x 600 screen as standard and a brighter 1366 x 768 panel as an option, and a 160GB or 250GB hard drive. The HDMI port of the earlier Mini 1010 was replaced with VGA. Dell withdrew from netbooks within a couple of years as tablets and low-cost ultraportables took over that part of the market.
