Background

About the Apple PowerBook G4 15" M8592

Introduced 2002

The Apple PowerBook G4 15" M8592 is the 800 MHz Titanium PowerBook G4 sold from 29 April to 6 November 2002, the top model of the DVI generation. It came with 512 MB of memory and a 40 GB hard drive, double the memory of the 667 MHz M8591.

Shared features of the generation are the 15.2-inch display at 1280 by 854, a DVI port, Radeon 7500 graphics and a slot-loading Combo drive. The model number is A1001. Although the hinge design was revised for this version, hinge and display cable wear remain the faults to look for on any Titanium PowerBook, along with a battery that no longer holds charge. It was replaced by the 867 MHz and 1 GHz models.
