Background

About the Apple iBook G4 14

Sold 2003–2006

The larger iBook G4 used a 14.1-inch display at 1024 by 768, the same resolution as the 12.1-inch model, in a 2.7 kg case. Seven configurations were sold between October 2003 and May 2006, starting at 933 MHz and 1.0 GHz and ending with a single 1.42 GHz model. Throughout, the 14-inch machine was the better-equipped option, with larger hard drives and, from late 2004, a version with a SuperDrive for writing DVDs.

An Apple iBook G4 14 from the 2005 revision also has a scrolling trackpad, Bluetooth and a sudden motion sensor. Hard drive replacement requires extensive dismantling on every version.
