About the Dell Vostro 3500

Sold 2010–2011

Among the Vostro 3000-series laptops launched in March 2010, the Dell Vostro 3500 was the volume model: a 15.6-inch widescreen machine that succeeded the Vostro 1520. Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors were the usual choices, with a dual-core Core i7 at the top, and Intel HD Graphics handled the display.

The aluminium-clad chassis gave it a more substantial feel than the plastic-bodied Vostro 1000-series machines. Dell replaced it with the Vostro 3550 in 2011. There is no single notorious defect, but the machines are old enough for failing hard drives, flat batteries, worn keyboards and fans choked with dust to be routine findings.
