About the Dell Latitude XT2

Sold 2009–2011

Introduced in February 2009, the Dell Latitude XT2 was the second generation of Dell's 12.1-inch convertible tablet. It kept the swivelling screen, pen and N-trig touch digitiser of the original XT but moved to an Intel platform with ultra-low-voltage Core 2 Duo processors and was offered with solid-state storage.

It was sold to healthcare, education and field staff who needed handwriting and touch input on a full Windows laptop, and a rugged XFR derivative was also produced. Changes to the N-trig system improved its performance, but the USB conflicts and driver crashes reported on the first XT were not fully cured, so an unresponsive touch screen is more often a software than a hardware fault. The XT3 followed in 2011.
