Background

About the Dell Latitude E6500

Sold 2008–2010

The Dell Latitude E6500 was the 15.4-inch flagship of the E series at its 2008 launch and the successor to the D830. Built on Intel's GM45 platform, it took Core 2 Duo processors up to the T9800 and DDR2-800 memory, with Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics as standard.

It offered the largest screen and the fullest specification in the Latitude range and was closely related to the Precision M4400 mobile workstation. The 16:9 E6510 followed in 2010. The E6500 shares the 2008 E-family styling, keyboard and E-Port dock with the E6400, so many parts are interchangeable in principle. Batteries, hard drives and fans are the usual concerns on machines of this age.
