About the Dell Inspiron 1464

Introduced c. 2010

The Dell Inspiron 1464 was the 14-inch model in the trio of Inspirons that brought Intel's first Core i3 and Core i5 mobile processors to Dell's home range around the start of 2010. Its siblings were the 15.6-inch Inspiron 1564 and the 17.3-inch Inspiron 1764.

It took over from the Core 2 based Inspiron 1440 and kept a similar plastic chassis with a 16:9 screen, using the graphics built into the new processors in most configurations. It was replaced later in 2010 by the redesigned Inspiron 14R. A machine of this age will usually need a new battery, and swapping its hard drive for an SSD is the common upgrade.
