Background

About the Sony VAIO VPC L1 Series

Sold 2009–2011

Sony VAIO VPC L1 Series is a 24-inch all-in-one desktop launched with Windows 7 in October 2009, the successor to the VGC LV. Its full HD screen was touch-sensitive, making it one of the first VAIO machines designed around Windows 7 multi-touch, and it doubled as a living-room television with a TV tuner, Blu-ray options and an HDMI input.

Early versions used Intel Core 2 processors, with updates during 2010, and the VPC L2 took over in 2011. Everything is housed behind the screen, so access for repair means removing the rear cover, and the hard drive, optical drive and fans are the parts most often replaced.
