Background

About the Sony VAIO VGC V Series

Sold 2004–2005

The Sony VAIO VGC V Series was an early all-in-one desktop, sold in 2004 and 2005 and styled like an LCD television. The computer was built into the back of a widescreen display, in sizes up to 20 inches, and a built-in TV tuner with remote control let it record and show broadcasts as well as run Windows XP.

Intel Pentium 4 processors were used. The V was one of the first models with the VGC prefix and the forerunner of the later L family of VAIO all-in-ones. It is a desktop, not a notebook. After two decades, hard drives, backlights and power components are all liable to fail.
