Background

About the Dell Inspiron 11z

Sold 2009–2010

Dell launched the Inspiron 11z in 2009 as an 11.6-inch ultraportable, and in most markets it replaced the Inspiron Mini 12. The Dell Inspiron 11z was a step up from a netbook: instead of an Atom it used Intel's low-voltage Celeron and Pentium processors, with a 1366 x 768 widescreen display and a near full-size keyboard.

It was one of several thin z-suffix Inspirons from that period, sold on portability and battery life at a modest price. The touchpad, which had its buttons built into the pad surface, was widely criticised by reviewers. There is no optical drive, and the original batteries will have lost most of their capacity by now.
