About the Apple iBook G3 12" M8520

Introduced 2001

Among the four configurations of the May 2001 white iBook, M8520 was the top one: the 500 MHz Dual USB model fitted with a combination DVD-ROM and CD-RW drive, which Apple offered only as a build-to-order option through its own store. Like the DVD-ROM version it came with 128 MB of memory and a 10 GB hard drive, behind a 12.1-inch 1024 by 768 screen.

The Apple iBook G3 12" M8520 was on sale for under six months before the October 2001 revision replaced it. Its ATI Rage Mobility 128 graphics with 8 MB of video memory date it clearly and, as with any laptop of this age, the original hard drive and battery are likely to be worn out.
