HP Hard Drive and SSD Replacement

A failing or full SSD slows your HP right down. We fit a new drive, reinstall or clone your system, and bring your files back.

Signs your HP needs this repair

  • "No bootable device" or disk error messages
  • Freezes, crashes or very slow start-up
  • Storage full and no room for updates
  • Files that won't open or have gone missing
  • Laptop stuck on the logo screen
  • Drive not showing in the system

How we fix your HP

We check the drive's health first. If it still works, we clone it to the new SSD so everything is exactly as you left it.

If the old drive has failed, we fit the new SSD, install your operating system, and recover what we can from the old drive. Most HP models take a standard M.2 SSD, and we'll confirm yours before ordering.

How long it takes

SSD replacements and upgrades are usually finished the same day or the next day.

Good to know: Keep at least 15% of your drive free. A nearly full SSD slows down and wears out faster.

About this laptop

HP has made laptops since 1984, with EliteBook and ProBook for business, Pavilion, Envy and Spectre (now OmniBook) for consumers and Omen for gaming. More about the HP

Common questions

Will I lose my files?

Not if the old drive can still be read. We clone it or copy your files across. If it has failed, our data recovery service can help.

How much storage can I fit in my HP?

It depends on the SSD slot in your HP. We'll check and tell you the largest drive it supports.
