If the drive is failing, switch it off now. Every restart of a damaged drive can destroy more data. Don't run recovery software on it or keep trying it.

How we recover your data
A Synology DS218+ stores your files across its drives, usually as a RAID or similar volume. When it fails, the problem can be the unit itself, one or more drives, or the volume.
We image every drive, repair any failed drives and rebuild the volume from the copies, so your original drives are never worked on directly. Your files are then copied to a new drive.
