How we fix it
We diagnose whether the laser, the drive mechanism or the drive board has failed. A dirty or worn laser is often the cause, and cleaning or replacing it is cheaper than a full drive.
Where the drive needs replacing, we fit a compatible replacement. On consoles where the drive is paired to the motherboard, we transfer the original drive board so it works with your console.
How long it takes
Most disc drive repairs are completed within one to three working days, depending on parts.
Good to know: If a disc is stuck, don't try to force it out with tools. You can scratch the disc or damage the drive mechanism.
